It started with a glowing blue screen in a living room in Patna...
Like many parents today, I found myself fighting a losing battle. One evening, I sat watching my young daughter and my school-going son. The house was quiet, but it wasn't a peaceful quiet. It was the heavy, silent trance of screen time. They were staring at smartphones, mindlessly swiping through endless short videos.
When I gently took the phone away, the meltdown that followed broke my heart. It hit me like a ton of bricks: Algorithms were raising my children, not me. The curiosity, the endless "Whys?", the imaginative play—it was all being swallowed by glowing pixels.
I wanted to replace the screens with books. But when I searched for options, I hit a wall. The books available were either too westernized, lacking the Sanskar (deep-rooted Indian values) I grew up with, or they were simply too boring to hold a child's attention away from an iPad.
I realized that if I wanted books that combined modern science, brilliant illustrations, and deep Indian values, I would have to create them myself. That was the day HelloBacho was born.
What started as a desperate father's project to save his kids' attention spans has blossomed into a beautiful reality. Today, HelloBacho isn't just a publishing company. We are a family of thousands of mothers and fathers across India who are taking childhood back.
We are replacing mindless scrolling with 15 minutes of pure magic at bedtime. We are raising thinkers, leaders, and scientists.
From our family to yours,
